The Book of Ninhursaga

This tight three-hander manages to take us to the end of the world and back in about 25 minutes. An techno-ecological fable starring a morally gray, incredibly powerful alien and a broken but paradoxically hopeful human, the piece also features a countertenor/mezzo "AI" and a groaning, audibly trashed planet in the sonic fabric of the score. "Ninhursaga" is part of Jupiter's ongoing experimentation into chest-voice roles for non-traditional tenors and features melodies and interpolations to allow the part to be sized to fit.
