Welcome to the Board Meeting! We begin with old business, which sounds less exciting than it is. While the year was not without challenges, we fulfilled our mission with grant and fee payouts to composers, librettists, and performers during our third season in existence and our second season in Chicago. We raised money, got some grant funds through work with partners, and hosted a workshop performance. We have updates on all projects in progress, with an important announcement about composer changes for Godric on the River. Also, a special message from founder and general director Jude O'Dell.
We have a new grantwriter working with us pro bono. We need to quickly identify several opportunities for each project. So we're re-forming the board in a series of micro-committees, asynchronously communicating small groups led by each work's composer, which will create tasks for the admin folks. We also need to ratify our amended Mission Statement and Statement of Values and make plans for fundraising, grantwriting, marketing, and attendance at the upcoming Opera American conference.

All community members are invited to view and comment on Jupiter business; our Board will meet and begin the voting process on January 12, 2026. We are confirming our updated Mission Statement & Statement of Values, approving some old and new expenditures, and soliciting feedback as well as tasks and links for our grantwriting team. A full video of the meeting will be made available publicly the following week.
