This thoroughly modern adaptation of Chekhov's Death of a Government Clerk showcases sparkling tunes and enough jokes to keep your audience in chuckles. Low-level admin Mark makes a faux pas one night at the theater. But he's got social anxiety, so faux pas are never that simple. Watch him spiral for 23 delightful minutes, and by the end, you just might agree with his wife, Maria: "Jesus Christ, Mark, you are such a drama queen!"
This show was workshopped by Lyric Theater @ Illinois in 2023 and had a Jupiter-produced piano-vocal performance in 2024. The score is road-tested and ready to shine on your stage!
