Based on a true story of the 1993 murder of a young Nebraska trans man, Jupiter's version turns the familiar tragedy behind feature film "Boys Don't Cry" into a surreal examination of justice, revenge, and forgiveness. Dutka's music is by turns infectiously tuneful and richly sinuous and features standout moments for soloists, duets, and ensemble numbers.
